Improved light distribution and higher efficiency help distribution centers become more sustainable
Schagen, September 2025 – The logistics sector faces a dual challenge: increasingly taller warehouses and stricter energy requirements. That’s why Veko Lightsystems is launching the second generation of the Magnus Narrow, a linear lighting fixture specially developed for narrow aisles and mounting heights of up to 26 meters. The renewed optical design delivers sharper light distribution, better coverage, and lower energy consumption — without compromising on installation convenience.
From Wehkamp to Bavaria
The Magnus Narrow is already used in distribution centers of companies such as Wehkamp and Bavaria. For these organizations, lighting plays a crucial role in achieving efficient and sustainable logistics. Thanks to the new generation, retrofits or expansions can be done easily using a 1-to-1 replacement with a more energy-efficient luminaire, without the need to modify the existing system.
Technical progress serving sustainability
The improvements may seem minor on paper — from 167 to 171 lm/W in efficiency and a narrower light beam (24.8–95°) — but in practice, they result in significant energy savings. This makes the luminaire suitable for BREEAM-certified projects and helps companies meet growing energy audit demands and CO₂ reduction goals.
“The new Magnus Narrow combines the same ease of installation with better performance,” says John Peters, Team Lead R&D at Veko Lightsystems. “Especially in distribution halls where lighting runs 24/7, every percentage of savings counts.”
Lighting the future of logistics
With the second-generation Magnus Narrow, Veko responds to the trend of taller warehouses and the increasing need for precision lighting. The company, celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2025, sees this innovation as part of a broader mission: delivering sustainable lighting that supports efficient and future-proof logistics.
